Dickson-200 : The Lightweight Solution for UV Strips

We are pleased to introduce a new solution for the problem of sacrificial strips for furling Headsails. Dickson-200 features the UV resistance of Covermakers acrylic but with the weight of 3.9oz polyester sailcloth.

The UV stability of Dickson Marine Acrylic has long been admired by the covermaking industry. The 100% solution dyed acrylic fibre provides many years of fade free use despite almost constant UV exposure. This makes it the ideal material for mainsail boom covers.

However standard Covermakers acrylic, weighing 300gsm (7oz), is heavy and can effect sail shape. The alternative is a 3.9oz polyester sailcloth that, even with a UV coating, does not offer the level of protection of Acrylic.

Weighing in at just 195gsm (4.5oz) Dickson-200 is the ideal solution, offering a high level of protection with less effect on sail shape. And as an added bonus Dickson-200 is highly cost effective and excellent value.

For Covermakers Dickson-200 is also ideal for upholstery, halyard bags, sun awnings and other light weight accessories.
